The Opportunity: Production Line Leader
We are looking for a proactive and driven Line Leader to join our production team. In this hands-on leadership role, you will manage and support a team of production operatives to ensure productivity targets are achieved and operations run smoothly.
You will play a key role in planning and coordinating production in line with customer demand, maintaining quality standards, and resolving issues that impact performance. This is a varied and fast-paced role that offers the opportunity to lead people, improve processes, and make a real impact on operational success.
Expectations & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a confident production operator, capable of maintaining performance and quality in a busy manufacturing environment, with the desire to take their next career step. Key responsibilities will include:
· Leading and supporting production operatives to meet daily output and performance targets.
· Championing health and safety, ensuring all activities meet required standards.
· Planning and issuing work in line with customer demand and production schedules.
· Monitoring productivity throughout shifts and resolving or escalating issues promptly.
· Maintaining high quality standards and ensuring consistent attention to detail across operations.
· Identifying training needs and supporting team development.
· Managing employee conduct matters fairly and consistently where required.
· Promoting a productivity-focused culture across the production facility.
· Ensuring smooth workflow and communication across departments.
· Identifying and recommending continuous improvement opportunities, inc. Lean and 5S.
· Reporting labour or material shortages and supporting effective resource planning.
· Delivering daily team briefings and maintaining clear communication with cell teams.
· Supporting wider team activities as required in a collaborative working environment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Good understanding of health and safety regulations, with confidence to take corrective action.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
· Good computer literacy and analytical ability to interpret production data and prioritise work.
· Positive, proactive approach with a strong team ethic.
· Flexibility to work unsociable hours in line with business needs.
Desirable
