Care Assistant (Nights)
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and compassionate Night Care Assistant to join our team within our care home.
Our night team plays a vital role in making sure our residents feel safe, comfortable and supported throughout the night. You’ll be working as part of a close-knit team, providing personal care, reassurance and support while helping maintain a calm and welcoming environment.
Previous care experience is desirable, but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

Your role
You will:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care throughout the night
- Assist residents with personal care, continence care, repositioning and mobility
- Carry out regular night checks and ensure residents are safe and comfortable
- Respond to call bells and provide reassurance and support when residents need you
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing and report any concerns to senior staff
- Support residents while maintaining their dignity, privacy and independence
- Complete accurate electronic care records
- Provide clear handovers to the day team
- Help with cleaning and tidying duties during quieter periods of the night
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control
- Respond appropriately to emergencies
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and the home’s procedures
- Work alongside our Senior Care Assistants and wider night team
What we're looking for
- Someone kind, patient and genuinely interested in caring for older people
- Reliable and dependable, particularly given the nature of night working
- Comfortable remaining alert and attentive throughout the shift
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills for electronic care records
- Good organisation and time management
- Previous care experience is desirable, but not essential
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who understands that our residents rely on the night team to feel safe and supported in their own home.

Night Shift Transport
Because this is a night position, you must have reliable transport arrangements to get to and from the care home for every scheduled shift.
