Falcons Learning is an independent specialist school supporting young people aged 11–18 who require a more personalised, structured approach to education. We work with students who may have experienced barriers within mainstream settings, providing tailored support to help them re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

We are seeking motivated, resilient, and compassionate individuals to join our Learning Support and Enrichment team as Teaching Assistants. No prior experience (though is advantageous) is required — we are looking for individuals with the right attitude, professionalism, and commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant at Falcons Learning, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and pastorally. You will work closely with teaching staff to help deliver structured learning and provide targeted support that meets individual student needs.
The role involves working with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, supporting them to overcome barriers to learning, regulate behaviour, and develop confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students aged 11–18 to access learning in line with their individual needs
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and structured classroom activities
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support
- Promote positive behaviour through calm, consistent, and professional approaches
- Build appropriate, supportive relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Support students’ personal development alongside academic progress
Skills and Qualities
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have a genuine interest in working with young people, particularly those with additional needs or barriers to learning
- Communicate clearly and professionally with both students and staff
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
- Are reliable, punctual, and able to maintain high standards of professionalism
- Can follow guidance while also using initiative appropriately
- Are willing to learn and develop within a specialist education setting
