Job Purpose
The Team Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the children's home during allocated shifts, ensuring children and young people receive safe, nurturing, and therapeutic care that promotes their emotional, physical, educational, and social development.
The post holder will provide leadership and guidance to Residential Support Workers, promote best practice, and ensure the home operates in accordance with safeguarding legislation, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Care: Provide day-day care for children, including supporting with morning and bedtime routines, meal preparation, and personal hygiene were required.
Safeguarding: Actively promote the safety and wellbeing of children, identifying and reporting any safeguarding concerns immediately in line with the company policy and Ofsted requirements.
Emotional Support: Build positive, professional relationships with children, offering emotional support and guidance to help them manage their behaviours and feelings.
Key Working: Act as a Key worker for assigned children, contributing to care plans, risk assessments and attending statutory reviews.
Education & Activities: Support children with their education and encourage participation in a wide range of social, recreational, and educational activities.
Reporting and Recording: Maintaining accurate, concise and clear daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes in accordance with Ofsted standards and SCIFF.
Household Duties: Contribute to the cleanliness and maintenance of the home, ensuring it remains a warm and welcoming environment.
Team Collaboration: Attend induction, team meetings, Trainings Handovers, and supervision sessions with support workers to ensure consistent care and professional development
Age Requirement:
Essential: Must be aged 21 or over
Skills:
Essential: Excellent communications skills (verbal and written). Desirable: Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
Attributes:
Essential: Empathy, love, Resilience and a non-judgemental approach. Desirable: High level of emotional intelligence.
Availability:
Essential: Ability to work in a flexible rota including weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
Driving:
Desirable: Valid UK Driving License (highly desirable for transporting children)
