Civils Site Manager — Manchester — £50,000-£60,000 + Package
About the Role
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established main contractor delivering civil engineering projects across Greater Manchester and the surrounding region. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add an experienced Civils Site Manager to their team, with a clear and genuine path to progress to Contracts Manager within 18 months.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Site Manager who wants their career progression mapped out from day one, joining a business that promotes from within and invests in developing its people.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of civil engineering sites, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
- Oversee road adoption works and Section 278 agreements from start to completion
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards and site procedures
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
- Support commercial and programme reporting, working closely with the wider project team
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, with specific hands-on experience of road adoptions and Section 278 works
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- SMSTS qualification (essential)
- Streetworks Supervisor ticket (desirable, not essential)
- A driven, career-focused individual looking to progress into a Contracts Manager role within the next 12-18 months
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
