About Us
Field Services Recovery is a well-established, family-run vehicle recovery and roadside assistance company operating across the South West. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Roadside Technician & Class 1 (Category C+E) Recovery Driver to join our Exeter team.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be attending roadside breakdowns in a service van, carrying out roadside repairs where possible, and operating our recovery vehicles when required.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending roadside breakdowns in a fully equipped service van.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults at the roadside where possible.
- Recovering cars, vans and commercial vehicles using Class 1 & 2 recovery vehicles.
- Battery replacements, jump starts, diagnostics and other roadside assistance.
- Loading and recovering vehicles safely and professionally.
- Completing vehicle and equipment safety checks.
- Providing outstanding customer service during every recovery and roadside attendance.
- Participating in an on-call rota and working overtime when required.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good mechanical knowledge and practical fault-finding ability.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A professional, reliable and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Desirable Skills
- Previous roadside assistance or vehicle recovery experience.
- Experience with vehicle diagnostics and repairs.
- Knowledge of recovery equipment and vehicle loading.
- HIAB, winching or specialist recovery experience (training can be provided).
