Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in culinary techniques and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation and food preparation, ensuring that each dish meets our high standards of excellence. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and portioning.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Maintain an organised workstation, ensuring all utensils and equipment are clean and ready for use.
- Participate in menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in meal preparation.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are advantageous but not essential.
