The Whittling House is looking for a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Housekeeper to join our friendly team in Alnmouth.
We are a busy boutique hotel and restaurant, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and helping ensure our guests have a fantastic stay.
The Role
Your main responsibility will be preparing and maintaining our guest bedrooms and public areas to a high standard. Duties will include:
- Cleaning and preparing guest bedrooms
- Making beds and changing linen
- Cleaning bathrooms and replenishing toiletries
- Vacuuming, dusting and general cleaning
- Cleaning and maintaining communal and public areas
- Reporting any maintenance issues or damage
- Helping with laundry and linen where required
- Ensuring rooms are ready for arriving guests on time
- Working alongside the wider hotel team during busy periods
What We're Looking For
Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience would be helpful, but it isn't essential as training can be provided.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual
- Hardworking with good attention to detail
- Able to work independently
- Happy working as part of a small, friendly team
- Able to work efficiently during busy changeover periods
- Flexible with working days, including some weekends

Important Information
We do not have live-in or staff accommodation available for this position.
Applicants must therefore be able to reliably commute to Alnmouth for their shifts.
We are also unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role, so applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
