Ambleside Care Home is a highly respected, dedicated care dementia care home based in Bexhill on Sea. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional, professional standard of care that promotes dignity, privacy, safety, and independence for all of our residents.
We are currently looking for a professional, compassionate, and organized Senior Care Assistant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you won't just be delivering hands-on care—you will be actively supervising, coaching, and mentoring a shift-based team of care assistants to help maintain our high standards of practice.
The Role & ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Mentorship
- Shift Supervision: Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of up to 4 care assistants during any given shift, ensuring tasks are distributed effectively and care is delivered to an exemplary standard.
- Professional Development: Act as a positive role model in the home, guiding junior staff in best-practice care methods and compliance.
Clinical & Resident Coordination
- Medication Administration: Safely manage and administer resident medication (Full, comprehensive training and certification will be provided).
- Medical Liaison: Manage and check in medical appointments for residents, communicating and liaising professionally with external healthcare professionals (GP surgeries, district nurses, and therapists).
- Active Day-to-Day Care: Support residents in their day-to-day activities both inside and outside of the home, encouraging physical, social, and emotional independence.
Operational Support
- Responsive Communication: Ensure call bells, doorbells, and telephones are answered promptly, professionally, and courteously.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all resident records. Monitor and report on health and safety issues on-site to ensure compliance with standards.
- Team Synergy: Participate actively in regular staff meetings, continuous training sessions, and professional development programs.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience working in a residential care or nursing home environment. Experience as a senior carer or shift lead is highly advantageous, but we will support an outstanding Care Assistant ready to take their next step.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently lead a small team and build strong relationships with residents and medical professionals.
- Organization: High attention to detail, especially regarding medication logs, shift paperwork, and health and safety compliance.
- Logistics: Ability to reliably commute to TN40 2JL.
- Right to Work: Must possess the unrestricted right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Pay can be discussed based on experience
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
