About the Role
Avtron is a global leader in the design and manufacture of Load Banks and Dynamometers, supplying customers across the power generation, utilities, defence and industrial sectors. We are committed to engineering excellence, innovation and delivering quality products right first time.We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our busy operations facility and play a key role in supporting our right-first-time culture.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will work closely with Operations and other functional teams at shop-floor level to identify and resolve manufacturing quality issues, reduce product faults and rework, and deliver effective product and process improvement projects.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, working collaboratively and driving measurable improvements in manufacturing quality and product build standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Operations and cross-functional teams to identify, investigate and resolve manufacturing quality issues.
- Lead quality improvement projects focused on reducing product faults, rework and improving right-first-time performance.
- Apply effective problem-solving techniques, including RCA and 8D, to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Analyse production quality data and lead the Manufacturing Quality Review (MQR) process to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Proactively identify and deliver product and process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency and manufacturing standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with manufacturing quality control, RCA and 8D methodologies.
- Experience analysing production and quality data and using findings to drive measurable improvement.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across Operations, Engineering, Quality and other functions.
