Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pre-school Treasurer to oversee the financial management of our pre-school. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting the organisation’s financial health and ensuring smooth operational processes. Experience with accounting software and familiarity with programmes such as Excel and Sage is essential.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of the pre-school’s financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintain accurate financial records using software such as Excel and Sage.
- Prepare regular financial reports for the preschool committee and AGM meetings.
- Oversee budgeting processes and monitor expenditure to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Assist with financial planning and provide advice on fiscal matters to support organisational goals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies, regulations, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with other staff members to facilitate smooth financial operations within the preschool.
- Time for position is 2/3 hours per month
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial management or accounting roles is essential.
- Proficiency in software such as Excel, Sage, .
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage financial tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Experience handling accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and integrity in managing sensitive financial information.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a professional manner.
- Prior experience working with educational institutions or non-profit organisations is advantageous but not mandatory.
