We’re looking for Food and Beverage Team Members ! The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us. In this role, you’d be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

Salary: £12.75 per hour
Contract Duration: Fixed term until 31st December 2026 (with the possibility of extension)
Contract type: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays, but does not require evening or split shifts. You must be available on both weekends and weekdays.

What you'll be doing:As a member of the Kitchen Team, you'll play a vital role in preparing and producing high-quality food across a variety of areas within our operation. From supporting daily service in the café kitchen to working bakery shifts, assisting in our BBQ outlet, and helping to produce food in our brand-new production kitchen, you'll take pride in creating great food and maintaining high standards at all times.
This is a busy and varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for food preparation and production, ensuring dishes are consistently presented to a high standard and ready for service. You'll also support with receiving and checking deliveries, organising stock, and helping to ensure our kitchens are well-stocked and running efficiently. Teamwork, flexibility and a positive attitude are essential as you'll work closely with colleagues across different areas of the business.
You'll have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety, cleanliness and quality. Maintaining excellent cleaning standards throughout all kitchen and food production areas will be a key part of your role, helping us provide a safe, professional and welcoming environment for both colleagues and visitors.
We'll give you an induction tailored to the role, along with training in food safety, allergens and operational procedures, plus any mentoring needed to help you succeed. You'll also have opportunities to develop your skills further through additional professional training and development if you wish.
