As a Field Service Technician / Fitter / Mechanic, you’ll be based at our Grangemouth depot in the United Kingdom, keeping our crane fleet safe, reliable and ready for action across the region. You work hands-on with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems, solving real technical challenges where they matter most: on site and in the yard. With autonomy, trust and strong team support, you help keep Team Blue moving — safely, precisely and without compromise.

Your job in a nutshell:
- Inspect, test and maintain crane systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic) in line with Sarens procedures and manufacturer guidelines
- Carry out servicing, repairs and statutory inspections on fleet and yard equipment
- Diagnose faults and perform corrective and preventative maintenance
- Safely deploy and position lifting equipment when required for testing or intervention
- Order standard parts via the Fleet Manager or Group Service Manager
- Accurately complete maintenance reports, work records and timesheets
- Report faults, damage, recurring issues and major repair needs without delay
- Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks and team meetings
- Share technical knowledge and support the development of colleagues
- Report to the Fleet Manager and work closely with depot and field teams in Grangemouth and Glasgow

ABOUT YOU
You are a **practical technician who takes pride in craft and safety**. You work independently, think logically under pressure and communicate clearly with colleagues and partners. Experience with cranes or heavy lifting equipment gives you confidence on site, and you approach every intervention with focus and responsibility.
- Required:
- Proven experience in servicing and maintaining cranes or heavy lifting equipment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, with working understanding of hydraulics, electrics and electronics
- Valid UK driving licence
- Relevant technical or mechanical qualification
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom
- Strong safety awareness and structured way of working
- Preferred:
- Experience in a field‑based or depot‑based service role
- Manufacturer training or specialist crane certifications
- Comfortable working across multiple depots or sites when needed
