ABOUT US
Caviar and Cocktails is a small, fast-growing business specialising in caviar and other fine foods. We supply leading restaurants, luxury retailers and homes across the UK, with all our caviar packed by hand at our Shrewsbury premises.
We are a small, friendly team and take great pride in maintaining high standards across everything we produce and send to our customers.
ROLE PURPOSE
This is a practical, hands-on seasonal role supporting us through our busiest period of the year.
The main focus of the role will be packing caviar, preparing and labelling tins, making up packaging and preparing products ready for customer orders. At busy times, you may also help the wider team with packing customer orders, gift sets and hampers.
A significant part of the caviar packing work takes place in our walk-in chiller. You will not normally spend your entire working day in the chiller; the role also includes labelling, sealing, preparing packaging and other production tasks outside it. Suitable warm clothing and PPE will be provided.
Full training will be given, so previous experience of food production or caviar is not required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
· Repacking caviar by hand into smaller tins
· Weighing caviar accurately and following our packing procedures
· Preparing tins for vacuum sealing
· Applying the correct product labels, batch information and use-by dates
· Preparing and making up boxes and other packaging
· Organising tins and packaging ready for production
· Helping prepare gift boxes, hampers and seasonal products
· Assisting with customer order packing during particularly busy periods
· Keeping production and packing areas clean, tidy and hygienic
· Completing simple production records as required
· Following food hygiene, traceability and quality-control procedures
WORKING IN THE CHILLER
Caviar has to be kept at a controlled cold temperature, so part of this role involves working in our walk-in chiller.
You should therefore be comfortable working in a cold environment for periods during the day. We structure the work so that there are also tasks outside the chiller, including labelling, sealing and preparing packaging, and we provide appropriate thermal clothing and PPE.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This role would suit someone who:
· Is reliable and conscientious
· Has a very good eye for detail
· Is comfortable carrying out practical, repetitive tasks accurately
· Can follow clear processes and instructions
· Takes pride in doing a job carefully and properly
· Is happy working both independently and as part of a small team
· Is comfortable working in a chilled environment
· Is willing to help with different practical tasks when things get busy
· Can work efficiently while maintaining high standards
You do not need previous food-production experience. We will provide full training.
WHAT WE OFFER
· A friendly and supportive working environment
· Full training in caviar packing, food handling and our production processes
· Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification - we will support you to complete your Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate as part of your training, giving you a recognised qualification to take with you beyond the role
· Thermal clothing and PPE for chiller work
· Some flexibility around working hours
· Additional paid hours during busy periods
· The opportunity to work with a premium specialist food product
The role is currently expected to finish on 31st December 2026. There may be an opportunity to extend the position into the New Year, although this cannot be guaranteed at this stage.
