We are looking for a proactive and reliable Machine Minder to support the efficient operation of our production machinery in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will help maximise machine performance, minimise downtime, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety requirements.
Key duties include operating and monitoring production equipment, carrying out basic mechanical maintenance, supporting line changeovers and cleaning activities, maintaining accurate production records, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will play an important role in promoting a safe working environment and ensuring production targets and quality standards are achieved.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and a team-focused approach. Previous experience in manufacturing or food production is desirable, along with knowledge of food safety, lean manufacturing, TPM, or 5S practices, although training can be provided.
Shift Patterns:
Machine Minders will follow a weekly rota-based schedule aligned with department needs. Evening work may be required. Start times will vary by department and rota plan. Pre-start checks and line setups must be completed 1 hour prior to official shift start. Each department will have at least two trained Machine Minders to ensure operational coverage and flexibility.
