Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistants to join our domiciliary care team. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily living activities within their own homes. We welcome applications from both male and female carers, with a particular need for female care staff to meet the individual preferences and care requirements of our service users.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in care homes or home care settings is advantageous, with experience in palliative and end-of-life care being highly desirable due to the nature of some of the support we provide. As this is a domiciliary care role, all applicants must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.

Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing and dressing.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and support with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure personalised care.
- Follow care plans to meet individual needs and preferences.
- Support clients in engaging in social activities and maintaining independence where possible.
- Provide compassionate support to individuals receiving palliative and end-of-life care, ensuring comfort, dignity, and person-centred care at all times.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Travel between clients' homes across the service area, including EX2, EX3, EX4, EX6, EX17, and the TQ postcode area when required.
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals receiving palliative or end-of-life care is advantageous.
- A full, valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle are essential.
- Candidates must be flexible to work 12-hour shifts, including both long days and waking night shifts, to meet the needs of the service.
- A good level of English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication.
- Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining accurate documentation and updating care records.
- Strong communication skills are vital to build trust and rapport with clients and team members.
- Candidates must have fully up-to-date mandatory training, with all required modules completed and certificates readily available as a minimum requirement.
