Duties
- Assist clients with personal care routines including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Manage behavior effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands as needed, ensuring safe transportation
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
- Assist with light physical activities or exercises to promote mobility and strength
Experience
Candidates should have previous experience in assisted living environments or home care settings. Experience in patient care within nursing homes or hospice environments is highly valued. Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, and senior care is essential for providing specialized support. Additional qualifications include caregiving certifications such as first aid and medication administration. Candidates with experience in behavior management, heavy lifting, meal preparation, and driving will excel in this role. A background in childcare or similar caregiving roles can be beneficial. The ideal applicant demonstrates patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks safely.
Pay: £13.00-£18.00 per hour
