Key Responsibilities
Yard Operations & Vehicle Movement
- Safely shunt lorries, trailers, and tankers around the site in line with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
- Coordinate vehicle movements within the yard to ensure efficient traffic flow and minimise delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring products and materials are handled safely and correctly.
- Conduct routine yard checks and report any defects, damage, or safety concerns.
Forklift Operations & Material Handling
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to move products, pallets, and materials throughout the site.
- Unload incoming wagons and deliveries, checking goods and transferring them to designated storage locations.
- Load finished products and materials for dispatch in accordance with operational requirements.
- Carry out daily forklift inspections and report any maintenance issues immediately.
Factory & Production Support
- Support factory operations by assisting production teams with general tasks as required.
- Move raw materials and finished goods between departments to maintain workflow.
- Assist with cleaning, organising, and preparing production areas for efficient operation.
- Provide additional support across departments during busy periods or operational downtime.
- Carry out routine milk, cream, and dairy ingredient testing, accurately recording and reporting results to support quality standards, product consistency, and operational requirements
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the yard, factory, and storage areas.
- Ensure vehicle routes, loading bays, and walkways remain clean, organised, and free from hazards.
- Comply with all company health & safety policies, procedures, and site rules.
- Report accidents, near misses, hazards, and unsafe conditions to the Nightshift Supervisor.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with the Nightshift Supervisor and operational teams to ensure smooth site operations.
- Communicate clearly regarding vehicle movements, deliveries, equipment issues, and work priorities.
- Support colleagues across different departments to meet operational requirements.
- Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.
Skills & Requirements
- Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence - highly desirable.
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Experience shunting lorries or working within a busy yard environment is desirable.
- Ability to work night shifts and perform a range of physical duties.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and safe vehicle operating practices.
- Willingness to be First Aid training (at the company's expense)
Additional Duties
- Perform any other reasonable tasks requested by supervisors or managers to support the smooth running of the operation.

Experience:
- Driving a Fork Lift: 2 years (preferred)
- driving/ shunting HGV's: 1 year (preferred)
