Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter, Decorator and Wallpaperer to join our production team. This role will support the preparation, finishing, and installation of exhibition equipment, display items, furniture, and related structures to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out painting, decorating, wallpapering, and surface preparation works both in the workshop and on-site. They will work closely with the wider production team to ensure all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation and Finishing
- Prepare surfaces for painting, decorating, and wallpapering, including sanding, filling, buffing, and priming where required.
- Apply paint, finishes, and wall coverings to exhibition equipment, furniture, display items, and associated structures.
- Fill cracks, holes, and surface defects to ensure a smooth and professional finish.
- Apply protective coverings such as masking tape and sheeting to areas or items that could be damaged during work processes, including pre-finished surfaces.
- Ensure all decorating and finishing work is completed to a high standard and in line with project specifications.
Workshop and Site Duties
- Assist with site preparation, clearance, and maintaining general tidiness in the workshop and on-site.
- Work closely with all team members to complete projects efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
- Use company tools, machinery, and equipment safely, correctly, and respectfully.
- Ensure all materials are used efficiently, minimising waste and avoiding unnecessary damage. Any damage or issues must be reported to management promptly.
Health & Safety
- Work with the production team to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workspace at all times.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures both on the premises and on-site.
- Ensure safe working practices are always carried out.
- Wear and use the correct PPE at all times, as required for the task being undertaken.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure all time worked is recorded accurately against the correct project on a daily basis.
- Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Support the wider team with other duties as reasonably required.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in painting, decorating, and wallpapering.
- Experience working on furniture, interiors, exhibitions, shopfitting, or similar environments would be advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Awareness of safe working practices and manual handling.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to support across different projects.
Pay: £13.00-£20.00 per hour
