Up to £45,400 per annum pro rata, depending on experience

Our Physiotherapy team at Exeter Hospital currently have an opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist. This role will cover both musculoskeletal outpatients as well as inpatients on the ward (Orthopaedics & General Surgery).
As part of the team you will have clinical support available from your Regional clinical lead along with a team of experienced Physiotherapists and leadership from the management team on site. You will have a CPD budget to encourage you to continue your learning and striving for clinical excellence.
This role is on a permanent basis and we have up to 37.5 hours per week available. Both full time and part time applications will be considered.
The Role
The role will be a mixture of musculoskeletal outpatients and inpatient work primarily covering orthopaedics and some general surgery. The hours available are flexible, will mainly be based in outpatients but will need to include working on the inpatient ward on Fridays.
You will see a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and post-operative cases, playing a key role in helping our patients achieve, maintain and recover to the level of health and wellbeing that they aspire to.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, AHPS and consultants in order to optimise the health and recovery of our patients.

As a Senior Physiotherapist you will

Ensure on-going monitoring of the standard of treatment provided

Be compliant with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes
- Be expected to work in both an inpatient ward and outpatient clinic setting, with participation on the weekend ward rota
To succeed as a Senior Physiotherapist you will
-
Have a BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent and you’ll be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

Have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience

Have post-graduate experience of working in both musculoskeletal outpatients and having worked on an inpatient ward

Have a high level of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic knowledge.

Understand and have experience of both the Public NHS and Private healthcare service

Demonstrate evidence of further professional training and continual professional development, reflecting your desire to develop as a practitioner.

Be a confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with patients, the general public and other healthcare professionals.

Be able to auscultate a chest.

Be a competent and confident IT user with strong organisation skills.

Have the ability to prioritise and deal with a varied workload in an effective and timely manner.

Be expected to work on the wards as part of our team weekend rota

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital
The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the NHS RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. Exeter is a vibrant cathedral city in the heart of the beautiful county of Devon, situated on the river exe and only 10 miles from the coast. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, health assessment service, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for.
