Room leader/Third in charge duties and responsibilities:
- Lead a busy tots room and have a passion about your work
- Maintain the safety of children within your care at all times, both indoors and outside.
- Be fully aware of safeguarding and provide safe, creative and developmentally appropriate play activities, with regard to health and safety, ensuring that each child is working towards their optimum development.
- Help the managers with everyday nursery life
- Lead & Inspire: Plan and lead fun, educational activities that support the development of each child in your room, ensuring they reach their full potential.
- Manage Your Team: Lead a team of practitioners, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care and learning for all children.
- Build Strong Relationships: Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members to create a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Track Progress: Maintain accurate records of children's development, providing observations and assessments in line with their learning journey.
- Create a Safe & Inviting Space: Ensure your room is clean, safe, and welcoming, and that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
- Role Model Leadership: Lead by example—show your team how it’s done and inspire them to perform at their best while maintaining a happy, motivated atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Nursery Practitioner must hold a current childcare qualification (minimum Level 3) including knowledge of and ability to follow the requirements of EYFS
- Have at least 1 year qualified experience within a nursery setting
- Previous experience of working with young children
- Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Services Check and references
