Wood is seeking experienced Shutdown Pipefitters to support a planned outage based onsite in Teesside.
This is a hands-on role suited to highly skilled Pipefitters with proven experience working within fast-paced shutdown environments, carrying out high-quality work on critical plant equipment and systems.
Candidates must be safety-focused, quality-driven, and comfortable working in demanding environments, including confined spaces and at height, while delivering work to tight shutdown schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems, including but not limited to valves, fittings, and related equipment.
- Interpret and work from isometric drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute pipefitting tasks accurately.
- Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using various tools and techniques while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct inspections and tests on piping systems to identify and resolve issues such as leaks, blockages, or faulty components.
- Collaborate closely with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and other tradespeople, to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental protocols, promoting a culture of safety compliance within the team.
- Document all pipefitting activities, including work performed, materials used, and any pertinent information
About You
You are an experienced Pipefitter with a strong background in industrial shutdowns, power generation, energy, petrochemical, or heavy process environments. You have proven experience and can consistently produce work to the highest quality standards under demanding outage schedules.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter in industrial environments, preferably within the oil, gas, or related sectors.
- Relevant pipefitting qualifications/certifications (such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in pipefitting, plumbing, or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shutdown environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Valid certifications/licenses required by UK regulations for onshore shutdown projects.
