About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a busy control panel manufacturer for a Panel Wireman's Mate to join their workshop team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a good practical head on their shoulders and solid hand tool experience who wants to get into electrical panel building.
You will be working alongside experienced panel wirers, supporting the build of control panels for building management systems and industrial applications. No formal electrical qualifications are required, full training will be given on the job, but you will need to be comfortable using hand and power tools and keen to learn a new trade.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting panel wirers with panel assembly and preparation
- Measuring, cutting and fitting trunking and DIN rail
- Drilling and tapping back plates
- Preparing components and materials ready for wiring
- General workshop duties including keeping the work area tidy and organised
- Learning panel building skills from experienced tradespeople as you go
What We're Looking For
- Confident and competent using hand tools and power tools (drills, jigsaws, etc.)
- Experience as a labourer, electrician's mate, trades assistant, or similar hands-on role
- A background in a trade, construction, or general manual/industrial work
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Good timekeeping and a reliable, positive attitude
- Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Any exposure to an industrial, water treatment, automation or electrical environment is a bonus but not essential
