A caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Personal Assistant is required to support an adult woman to access social, leisure, and community-based activities.
The role involves providing companionship and encouraging participation in activities that promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing. Support may include attending the gym, accessing local social groups, community events, music-related activities, and other hobbies and interests. The successful candidate will also support the individual to develop social connections and engage in meaningful community activities.
Our client is a 45-year-old woman living in the Frodsham area of Cheshire with their family who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support for up to 14 hours per week evenings and weekends. The days are flexible.
Our client is a wheelchair user and manual handling is required.
Social duties:
- Providing companionship and social support.
- Encouraging participation in activities that promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
- Supporting attendance at the gym and other fitness-related activities.
- Assisting with access to local social groups and community events.
- Supporting participation in music-related activities and other hobbies and interests.
- Encouraging the development of social connections and friendships.
- Promoting involvement in meaningful community-based activities.
- Accompanying and supporting the individual on social outings and leisure activities.
- Providing encouragement and reassurance to help build confidence and maintain independence.
- Supporting the individual to access new experiences and opportunities within the local community.
- Caring, compassionate, and supportive, with a genuine desire to help others.
- Punctual, reliable, and dependable.
- Honest, trustworthy, and respectful of confidentiality.
- Patient, understanding, and able to provide reassurance when needed.
- Motivated and proactive in identifying and organising a variety of enjoyable social, leisure, and community-based activities.
- Able to encourage and promote independence whilst providing appropriate support.
- Friendly and approachable, with a positive attitude.
- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable building positive relationships and supporting social inclusion.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the individual's changing needs and preferences.
- Must be a dog lover as the family have a dog.
Hours of work: Up to 14 hours per week – evenings and weekends. Flexible on the days.
Rate of pay: £14.50 per hour
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a care, support, or Personal Assistant role is desirable but not essential.
- A willingness to learn and follow guidance to meet the individual's needs.
- Knowledge or understanding of epilepsy would be advantageous.
- Knowledge or understanding of anxiety and how it may impact daily activities would be beneficial.
- An awareness of promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work using your own initiative.
- Comfortable undertaking manual handling duties following appropriate training and guidance.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting the individual's privacy.
- A dog lover

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
