Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Person. You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of upkeep and repair tasks to ensure all our sites across Norfolk are maintained to a high standard and safe for the animals in our care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role , has experience working on a farm or something similar , is passionate about animal welfare and takes pride in their work.
Key responsibilities
- General Building Maintenance: Performing a variety of tasks including painting, tiling, paving, and minor joinery and plumbing work.
- Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding promptly to reactive repair issues to keep the animals in our care safe.
- Groundskeeping: Ensuring our sites are tidy and well-kept, which may include minor grounds maintenance tasks.
Basic Plumbing
Requirements
- Proven experience in a building maintenance or handyman role is essential.
- A strong understanding of various trade skills (e.g., basic plumbing, carpentry, painting).
- A valid driver's licence is required.
- Must have excellent timekeeping and reliability.
- Good communication skills are needed to interact with colleagues at all levels
- A clean criminal record may be a requirement for certain positions.
Ability for heavy lifting and manual handling
Hours and benefits
- Hours: 2 week rota averaging at 42.5 hours per week
