The Night Porter plays an important role in supporting the smooth, safe and secure operation of Skibo Castle throughout the night.
Working alongside the Night Supervisor and Night Manager, the role supports the overnight team in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of members, guests, colleagues and the property, while maintaining Skibo’s exceptional standards of service and presentation.
The Night Porter will carry out a range of overnight operational, guest service and administrative duties, responding to guest needs and supporting other departments as required. The role also involves carrying out security and fire safety checks, maintaining the presentation of the Castle and following all Club procedures, health and safety policies and standards to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment throughout the night.
As a Night Porter, you will:
- Support the Night Supervisor and Night Manager with the safe, secure and smooth running of the Club throughout the night.
- Carry out regular security and fire safety checks in line with Club procedures, remaining alert and attentive at all times.
- Provide a warm, professional and discreet service to members and guests, responding to requests and supporting departments including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Transport.
- Take responsibility for the switchboard once the late Receptionist has finished, handling calls and enquiries efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain the presentation and ambience of the Castle overnight, ensuring public areas, fireplaces, lighting and guest facilities are presented to Skibo’s high standards.
- Complete routine checks of guest areas, external areas, vehicles and buggies, reporting any issues to the relevant department.
- Support the Transport team with the staff transport.
- Complete general cleaning and tidying duties in staff and office areas as required.
- Assist with overnight financial and administrative procedures, including reconciliations, POS reports and accounting spreadsheets, reporting any discrepancies to the relevant manager.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers, ensuring any guest, maintenance, housekeeping or operational issues are reported promptly.
- Participate in Club training and support the development of new colleagues.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth running of the Club.

- The flexibility and commitment to work a 7 nights on / 7 nights off shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays as required.
