We are seeking a dedicated Supported Internship Job Coach to join our team at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. This role involves supporting young people with learning disabilities or additional needs to gain valuable work experience through tailored internships. The successful candidate will play a vital role in mentoring and guiding interns, fostering their personal and professional development within a healthcare environment. Duties
- Provide personalised mentoring and support to interns, helping them navigate their work placements effectively
- Assist interns in developing essential workplace skills, including communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities
- Liaise with hospital staff and external organisations to coordinate internship activities and ensure smooth integration of interns into the workplace
- Monitor and record intern progress, providing feedback and encouragement to promote continuous development
- Organise training sessions or workshops aimed at enhancing interns’ IT skills, customer service capabilities, and overall employability
- Utilise Microsoft Office tools to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages confidence and independence among interns
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies within the hospital setting
Skills
- Strong mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach towards supporting young people with additional needs
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and reporting purposes
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple interns and coordinate activities efficiently
- Customer service experience or aptitude to engage positively with hospital staff, interns, and external partners
- IT literacy to support digital learning tools and record keeping effectively
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, patience, and adaptability in a busy healthcare environment

Pay: £16,730.43 per year
