Prep Chef – Join the Team at Dunkelds
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced chef to join our kitchen team as a full time prep chef
Our café operates 7 days a week (9am–5pm),(High volume brunch) with an expanding evening restaurant service, Thursday–Saturday (5:30pm–10pm) (serving Ramen, Miso mushroom noodles, Bao buns..). This role is ideal for someone who has previous kitchen experience at a CDP / senior CDP level but looking to move to a day time only role (6pm finish each shift) whilst continuing to work with high quality food.
We are passionate about real food. Our kitchen works with clean ingredients only—no seed oils, no ultra-processed products, and no artificial additives. Everything is cooked from scratch wherever possible, so this role suits a chef who values ingredient quality and traditional cooking methods.
Role Overview
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and kitchen organisation
- Follow recipe specs to a high standard
- To be able to work independently in the prep kitchen
- Work with high-quality, minimally processed ingredients
- Clean, tidy and organised
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience at Chef De Partie level or 2 years at senior CDP
- Previous experience cooking in a professional kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of classical stock and sauce preparation
- Confidence working with fresh, from-scratch cooking
- Good organisational skills and ability to work across busy services
- Positive, team-focused attitude
Hours & Shifts
- 40-45 hours per week
- 5 days per week
- Day shifts only
Hourly rate flexible depending on experience.
