Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee culinary operations at our sporting arena. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing food production, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring exceptional food safety standards. This role looks after the public retail offering and the hospitality events delivering high-quality food services to spectators and staff alike. Previous management experience within a arena or multi outlet hospitality setting is essential, alongside a passion for culinary excellence and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service delivery
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, including cooks, servers, and support personnel
- Plan menus in collaboration with the culinary team, maintaining variety and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
- Coordinate with event organisers and arena management to meet specific catering requirements
- Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements to optimise productivity
- Uphold a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and professional development
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, and food preparation within a hospitality or restaurant environment
- Strong management skills with previous supervising or leadership experience in a kitchen setting
- Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and motivate staff to deliver exceptional service
- Experience in culinary arts or hospitality management is highly desirable
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced sporting arena environment
- Barista experience is considered an advantage but not essential
