Legal Assistant (Family)

The Role
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role supporting our fee earners in the family team, providing comprehensive administrative support and assisting with the daily management of family law matters. You will be trusted to manage your workload with confidence, demonstrate initiative and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence, client care letters and court bundles, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Managing client files, including opening new matters, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with office procedures.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, courts and third parties, handling enquiries, appointments and telephone calls professionally.
- Supporting the financial and administrative processes of the team, including billing, accounts assistance and general office administration.
About You
We’re looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our team on a permanent basis with:
- Some recent experience as a Legal Assistant or Secretary within a solicitor’s office, ideally in a family legal team (preferred)
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confident telephone manner and a client-focused approach
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Experience with case management systems would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided.

Please note this is a permanent, full-time role, but part-time working patterns will be considered for the right candidate, with a minimum of 25 hours per week. Please state your desired working pattern at application stage.
