Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MET Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle body structures and components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, the ability to work with various hand and power tools, and physical strength for heavy lifting. The MET Technician plays a vital part in ensuring vehicles are restored to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections of vehicle bodies to identify damage or defects
- Repair or replace damaged panels, frames, and structural components using appropriate techniques
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and modifications
- Assist with the preparation of vehicles for painting or finishing processes
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or bulky parts
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures during repair processes
- Document repair work accurately and report any issues to supervisors promptly
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle structures and systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and sanders
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling of vehicle parts
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure repairs meet quality standards
