About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced full-time Tutor to support a caseload of 35–40 Level 2 Health and Social Care Diploma learners through a blended approach of online, face-to-face and workshop-based delivery. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience within the Health and Social Care sector, alongside proven experience in tutoring and assessment. A recognised teaching and assessing qualification is required, as well as a relevant vocational qualification at, or above, the level being taught.
This is a fixed-term employment contract, starting as soon as possible and running until July 2028. We are also open to considering freelance opportunities for the right candidate.
Please note: this role is mainly remote but requires travel across Greater London for face-to-face observations (address noted on the advert is our registered address). We welcome applications from those located in London, Greater London or within commuting distance.

Your Responsibilities as a Tutor
- Plan, deliver and evaluate training to agreed policy and standards
- Utilise the appropriate initial assessment of learners to establish their starting point and plan learning accordingly
- Set and assess learner work in line with awarding body requirements
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to ensure learners understand any improvement needs
- Promote the safety and well-being of all learners
- Use naturally occurring opportunities to promote British Values, Prevent, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Prepare learners for assignments and exams, providing assessment of learners’ skills, behaviours and knowledge in compliance with policy
- Conduct workplace competence observations where required
Your General Responsibilities
- Comply with internal quality assurance strategy to ensure assessments are delivered to a high standard
- Ensure timely completion of learners scheduled assessments, tasks and presentations
- Liaise with Coaches, Progress Advisers, employers and mentors to support learner progression and achievement
- Attend relevant events and promote the JGA Group programmes where appropriate
- Complete CPD, training and standardisation activities to meet statutory and regulatory requirements
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required
What We're Looking For
Essential
- FE teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 3 Award in Education & Training)
- Assessor qualification (CAVA, D32/33, TAQA or A1)
- Relevant vocational qualification at the required teaching level
- Minimum Level 2 English and maths
- Knowledge of formative and summative assessment methods
- Strong ICT and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Recent Health & Social Care management experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible, solution-focused approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and professional learner relationships
- Satisfactory DBS check
Desirable
- IQA qualification or experience
Training will be provided where required. The role is subject to a DBS check, qualification verification and online screening as part of our safer recruitment process.
