Skilled Operative
Border Tank Services Ltd – Dumfries
£13 - £17 Per hour depending on experience.
Border Tank Services Ltd is looking for an experienced and reliable skilled operative to join our team on a full-time basis.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving:
- General groundworks and excavations
- Concrete work and site preparation
- Installation and removal of oil and fuel tanks
- Pipework
- Commercial tank cleaning
- Confined-space work
- Operating plant and machinery where qualified
- Working at sites throughout Scotland and Northern England
Applicants must be willing and physically capable of carrying out confined-space work within hazardous environments while wearing full breathing apparatus. All work will be undertaken following the appropriate training, risk assessments and safety procedures.
Applicants should have previous experience with general ground works, a full UK driving licence and a strong attitude towards work and health and safety.
Previous confined-space experience or certification would be advantageous. An HGV licence, ADR qualification and plant tickets would also be beneficial but are not essential, as additional training can be provided for the right person.
The successful applicant must be reliable, comfortable carrying out physical work and able to work well as part of a small team. The role will involve travel and occasional work away from home.
