Sales Manager – Life Science Reagents | Cambridge
Location: Office-based in Cambridge with regular field activity

The Opportunity
Join a growing Cambridge life science company supplying high-quality research reagents to scientists worldwide as their sole sales manager, taking responsibility for growing UK revenue.
Take ownership of an established UK territory currently generating approximately £500k in annual revenue, with a clear opportunity to grow this through strategic commercial activity.
Promote a portfolio of 100,000+ life science products including antibodies, ELISA kits and recombinant proteins used across academic and biotech laboratories.
Execute an exhibitions and seminar-led sales strategy targeting university procurement departments and introducing the company's online platform to new laboratories.
Develop long-term relationships with principal investigators, research groups and biotech teams, driving repeat purchasing through the company's online platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory plan focused on growing UK revenue from approximately £500k to £1M+ in year 1.
- Identify and engage academic laboratories and biotech companies across Cambridge, London and research clusters across the UK.
- Build strong relationships with procurement departments, research groups and laboratory managers, establishing the company as a trusted reagent supplier with new clients.
- Organise and deliver regular exhibitions, seminars and product demonstrations introducing the company's reagent portfolio.
- Promote a portfolio of antibodies, ELISA kits and recombinant proteins, supporting researchers in selecting appropriate reagents for their experiments.
- Secure access to university procurement frameworks and catalogue systems to enable purchasing pathways.
- Convert new laboratory relationships into long-term repeat customers ordering through the company's online platform.
- Maintain visibility of pipeline activity, territory progress and revenue performance through regular bi-weekly reporting.
- Stay current with developments in life science research, competitor activity and emerging customer needs.
About You
- A scientifically trained sales professional (MSc or PhD background preferred but not essential).
- Experience in consultative B2B sales within life science reagents or laboratory consumables.
- Comfortable with field-based working and building long-term relationships with researchers and procurement departments.
- A strong network across the UK life science ecosystem.
- Motivated by building relationships and expanding commercial presence and revenue within a growing company.
What’s on Offer
- Competitive base salary dependent on experience with uncapped commission incentives. Realistic OTE £80–90k.
- 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays. The office is closed between Christmas and New Year, with five days taken from the annual leave allowance during this period.
- Cambridge office-based with a combination of UK field activity.
- All business and travel expenses covered.
