Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver for ad hoc assignments to join our team. This role involves operating a variety of commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods efficiently and safely to present for MOT in Swindon. This position offers flexible scheduling for drivers seeking ad hoc work.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, horseboxes and articulated vehicles in compliance with all road safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Follow all health and safety protocols during operations to ensure a safe working environment
- Communicate effectively with teams regarding driving or any unforeseen issues
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles and delivery routes
- Knowledge of current road laws and safety regulations within the UK
- Flexibility to undertake ad hoc assignments as required by the business
- Good communication skills and professionalism in dealing with DVSA/VOSA and team members
