About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and practical Volunteer Handyperson & Grounds Maintenance Assistant to help us look after Tiber Square and our surrounding facilities.
This is a hands-on volunteering opportunity suitable for someone who enjoys gardening, general maintenance and practical tasks. You will help us keep the area clean, tidy, safe and welcoming for the local community.
Main Duties
Your responsibilities may include:
- Keeping Tiber Square and surrounding outdoor areas clean and tidy
- Cutting back and maintaining plants, bushes and other vegetation
- Removing weeds and keeping planted areas presentable
- Sweeping and general outdoor cleaning
- Carrying out basic handyman tasks
- Completing minor repairs and maintenance where appropriate
- Helping with the upkeep of equipment and facilities
- Identifying and reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns
- Supporting the team with other practical tasks when required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to help
- Enjoys practical, hands-on work
- Is comfortable carrying out basic gardening and maintenance tasks
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Has a good awareness of health and safety
- Takes pride in keeping spaces clean, safe and well maintained
- Has previous gardening, maintenance, DIY or handyman experience — desirable but not essential
