New Formation Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist boys' SEN school in Dorking, supporting pupils aged 9-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
If you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or have a background supporting young people with SEMH, behaviour needs or additional learning needs, this is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team where your support can have a genuine impact every day.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll:
- Support boys aged 9-16 with SEMH and MLD needs.
- Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups.
- Help pupils engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.
- Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Encourage resilience, confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team.
- Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional learning needs.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
