Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent customer service during service hours
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience in a culinary context is highly desirable
- Extensive knowledge of food production, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Strong team management abilities with leadership qualities that motivate staff
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Experience in menu development and food innovation is advantageous
- Previous involvement in hospitality or serving roles will be considered beneficial for understanding guest expectations
