About the Role:
The school in Uxbridge is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students with additional learning needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and communication disorders. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will assist students in both their academic and personal growth, ensuring their needs are met in a safe, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND in the classroom and care settings
- Assist with personal care tasks, including manual handling and peg feeding
- Support students with challenging behaviours and help maintain a positive, structured environment
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support students' learning and wellbeing
- Assist with any required medical care, including epilepsy care (training provided)
- Ensure students' physical, emotional, and social needs are met throughout the school day
Skills and Experience Required:
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students' development and wellbeing
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment
