Friendly Rural GP Practice
We are a friendly, supportive rural GP practice looking for a welcoming and organised Receptionist to join our team.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will often be the first point of contact for our patients, helping them access the right care and support in a professional and compassionate way.
The modern receptionist acts as a Care Navigator, so the role goes beyond traditional reception duties. You will help guide patients to the most appropriate service, whether that is a GP, pharmacist, physiotherapist, mental health practitioner, or another healthcare professional.
Because we are based in a rural village location, please be aware that public transport may not always be reliable for all working hours, so applicants should consider how they would travel to and from the practice.
Main Duties Include:
- Reception and front desk duties
- Answering telephone and face-to-face patient enquiries
- Care Navigation and active signposting of patients to appropriate services
- Appointment booking, cancellation and management using systems such as EMIS Web
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security at all times
- Acting as a chaperone when required
- Clinical coding, including accurately updating patient records using standardised medical codes
- General administrative support to the practice team
What We’re Looking For:
- Friendly and approachable manner
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
- Good IT and organisational skills
- A team player with a caring and proactive attitude
Training Provided:
- Comprehensive induction
- E-Learning training packages
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Training
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming practice team where you can develop valuable skills and make a genuine difference to the local community.
Pay: £10.00 per hour
