KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Preparation and cooking of all meals within the nursery setting, including snack, lunch and tea.
Assist with developing seasonal menus in consultation with nursery staff and adhere to the agreed menus.
Assist with the ordering of stock and delivery checks
Promote healthy eating with the children and staff.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Observe high standards of food hygiene during the preparation, cooking and serving of all foods. Comply with food safety management procedures and food hygiene regulations. Maintaining high levels of cleanliness in all aspects of work.
Knowledge of food preparation for specific dietary needs i.e. allergies, vegetarian, cultural.
Experience of working in a childcare environment an advantage, but not essential. Ability to work with children in preparing simple snacks and baking preparation.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Some catering experience.
Capable of working under pressure in an organised way.
