Multi-Skilled Engineer (Plumbing / Electrical / Fabric)
Location: London (field-based) | Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 + annual profit share bonus | Contract: Full-time, permanent
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our collaborative team. This is a mobile role covering commercial call-outs across London, where you'll turn your hand to a mix of plumbing, electrical, and general fabric/handyman work depending on the job.
We're after a genuine multi-trader — someone who is properly skilled in at least two of our three core areas rather than a jack-of-all-trades who dabbles. Strong communication with the office and thorough reporting are essential: keeping accurate records, giving clear updates, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
What You'll Do
- Attend reactive maintenance call-outs at commercial properties across London
- Carry out plumbing works — diagnose faults, reactive repairs, and HIU servicing and associated controls (training provided)
- Carry out electrical works appropriate to your qualifications, and general fabric/handyman repairs (carpentry, fixings, minor building repairs, etc.)
- Know when a task is notifiable or outside your certification, and escalate to a qualified specialist rather than working beyond your competence
- Maintain thorough documentation and provide clear, timely updates to the office
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers throughout each job
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver excellent service
What You'll Need
- Genuine primary-trade competence in at least two of our three core disciplines: plumbing, electrical, and general fabric/handyman work (not just minor or basic ability)
- At least one of those primary trades backed by a recognised NVQ-level qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) or 10+ years' hands-on experience in that trade
- If electrical is one of your primary trades: 18th Edition (BS 7671) is required
- Excellent communication skills – both written reporting and verbal updates
- Full UK driving licence
- A problem-solver who takes ownership of their work
Our Values – What Matters to Us
- Able to learn & adapt – Open to new systems, processes, and ways of working; flexible when things don't go to plan
- High attention to detail – Work done right the first time, to a high standard
- See it through – Owns tasks from start to finish; reliable and accountable
- Wants to help – Genuinely wants to support customers and colleagues, not just willing to
What We Offer
- £40,000 – £48,000 salary
- Annual profit share bonus
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays + 1 day off during your birthday week
- Additional holiday day for each year of service (up to 31 days)
- Private medical care
- Company van
- Paid travel time
- Supportive team environment with genuine opportunities for upskilling and training
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Private medical insurance
