Hours: Ranging from 12-30 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Variable shifts, including weekends and peak trading periods
About the Role
We're looking for multiple Catering Assistants to build an amazing team for the Taste Café at Sainsbury's Hankridge Farm, Taunton. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and want to be part of a supportive team.
As a Catering Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our customers receive excellent service and enjoy a welcoming café experience. Whether you're preparing food, serving customers, or maintaining high standards across the café, your contribution will be valued every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving high-quality food and beverages
- Delivering outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming environment
- Maintaining attractive food displays and well-stocked counters
- Operating the till and handling transactions accurately
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
- Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
- Supporting colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the café
- Representing the Sainsbury's Taste Café brand in a professional and positive manner
What We're Looking For
- A positive, enthusiastic, and customer-focused attitude
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Previous catering, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided
