We are now looking for an experienced furnishing sales professional, with a great track record in selling high value home furnishings to join our brand showroom within Cookes Furniture on the borders of Erdington / Sutton Coldfield.
Our furniture is made-to-order, customisable by size, configuration and finish. So you must have design or styling experience, gained in furniture or related area such as kitchens or bathrooms, to help clients design rooms and specify individual products .
In addition to sales skills and room design knowledge you need to be very organised and good at sales and order administration, comfortable learning / using software tools, like our 3D room design system and ordering systems.
The Senior Sales Consultant is effectively the showroom manager on a day-to-day basis. You must enjoy working independently, being responsible for all daily operations and comfortable working by yourself.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and engaging: The confidence to welcome customers, introduce them to BoConcept and know how to engage them in discovery.
- Discovery / needs analysis: Working to properly understand all client needs, residential and B2B.
- Product knowledge: Learning the BoConcept product range in detail.
- Design skills: Creating design solutions in 2D or 3D as required.
- Driving sales conversions: Managing customers through the sales process, finalising quotations and asking for the sale.
- Achieving sales targets - whilst also delivering excellent customer satisfaction.
- Being an excellent communicator, able to work confidently in-person in the showroom and remotely by Email and video calls.
- Always maintaining the showroom in line with brand standards.
- Staying updated with the latest interior design trends and BoConcept product knowledge
About you
- This is not an entry-level role, you must have at least 10 years full-time sales experience in furnishing or a related retail area - and can demonstrate success achieving business targets.
- You have experience in specifying products and designing rooms, this could be from a related area such as kitchens or bathrooms, but you must have used design software.
- Ideally, you've some experience in interior design, but as a minimum you must have a creative interest and a good knowledge of home interiors.
- You must enjoy sales! This role requires strong sales and 'people' skills first, design skills second.
- You have a great work ethic - you make things happen!
- Detail focused, you want a role where you have full responsibility for the customer journey from first engagement, through the sale to the ordering and delivery process.
- You must be happy working independently, support is always on-hand but operationally you are responsible for the normal operation of the showroom.
Technical requirements
- You've experience with MS Office and have excellent oral & written communication skills (you will routinely need to use Email and we don't allow AI)
- You would be confident to learn how to use an MS Dynamics based product ordering system (our orders are placed directly into the production system in Denmark)
- You have experience with 3D rendering software
- You understand that retail means flexibility to work weekends and you are fine with this.
- You are living in Birmingham / Sutton Coldfield or within a 30 minute commute of B23.
