We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join a funded research project investigating the molecular basis of immune evasion of this highly antibiotic-resistant pathogen.
This post will suit a motivated scientist with a PhD in Molecular Microbiology, Infection Biology or a related discipline, and experience in molecular microbiology, bacterial pathogenesis or host–pathogen interactions.
Dr. Lavender’s research group investigates the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis and host–pathogen interactions, with a particular focus on understanding how the bacterial pathogen, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, evades the innate immune defences to cause disease.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
