Sales Ledger & Credit Control Administrator
Job Overview
You'll be responsible for managing the Sales Ledger and Credit Control function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payments are collected on time, and customer accounts are maintained to a high standard.
Working closely with our Financial Controller and wider commercial teams, you'll help keep cashflow strong while providing excellent service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Ledger
- Full ownership of the sales ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity at all times
- Daily bank reconciliations and prompt allocation of receipts
- Timely raising, posting, and maintenance of sales invoices and credit notes
- Regular reconciliation of customer accounts and resolution of discrepancies
2. Credit Control
- Proactive management of customer debt in line with agreed credit control processes
- Clear tracking of aged debtors, including identification of high‑risk accounts
- Consistent, professional communication with customers regarding overdue balances
- Timely escalation of concerns to the Financial Controller and senior management
- Maintenance of accurate notes and audit trails on customer accounts
3. Customer Records & Data Management
- Creation, maintenance, and review of customer accounts within the ERP
- Ensuring customer records, payment terms, and credit limits are accurate and up to date
- Supporting data integrity ahead of and during future ERP developments
4. Cross‑Team & Cover Responsibilities
- Close collaboration with the Purchase Ledger and wider finance team
- Providing holiday cover for Purchase Ledger duties as required
Development & Progression
- Direct exposure to and support from the Accounts Manager
- Opportunity to broaden responsibility across finance processes
- Involvement in ERP development and process improvement projects
- Potential to grow the scope and seniority of the role as the business scales

Maintain an accurate Sales Ledger with minimal errors and up-to-date customer accounts.
2. Cash Collection
Collect payments within agreed terms, reducing aged debt and supporting healthy cashflow.

Build strong customer relationships, resolving queries professionally and efficiently.
4. Teamwork
Work collaboratively across Finance, Sales and Customer Service to resolve issues quickly.
5. Ownership
Take pride in the role, demonstrating initiative, reliability and a proactive approach to continuously improving processes.
Essential to the role:
- Proven experience in Credit Control
- Strong understanding of sales ledger processes and bank reconciliations
- Strong excel knowledge
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communicator, able to manage difficult conversations professionally
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing priorities independently
What we Offer:
- Salary: £30-32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours
· Standard 21 days (plus Bank Holiday Mondays)
- · Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
