Reading and Learning Advisor
2 positions 1 x 14.25 hours 1 x 20 hours

We are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to join the team at Clifton Explore Centre.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to respond effectively to a wide range of enquiries. You will be confident, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while consistently delivering a high-quality service.
You must really enjoy working with people and engaging with the local community, as well as supporting a variety of activities. This includes contributing to our social media presence and sharing your passion for books and reading, with people of all ages.
We are looking for a team player who can also take ownership of individual projects. You will need to share our vision and actively promote the services and values of Explore York Libraries and Archives.
ClIfton Explore includes a portfolio of Gateway libraries: Fulford, Huntington and New Earswick, and the Community Stadium library, so it is essential that you are able to travel to these locations.
This role requires flexibility, with working hours spread across 6 days.
Explore York Libraries and Archives deliver the library and archive service on behalf of City of York Council, so we are an independent organisation. We do this across a network of 17 libraries and reading cafes across the City, of which Clifton Explore Library is one. We have a board of Trustees who work with us to grow and develop us as a high quality, well-respected library and archive service. We believe in the difference we make to local communities, we are great at bringing people together and our values are around collaboration, sharing, ethical practice and fairness.
