Onyx Matcha Club is looking for a passionate and organised Prep Chef/Baker to join our team in Knightsbridge.
You will be responsible for creating and preparing our selection of delicious house-baked goods and nutritious, plant-based treats. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients and takes pride in producing food that looks beautiful, tastes exceptional and remains consistent every day.
This isn't just another café job. You'll help shape the standard, the culture and the guest experience from day one and grow with us as the brand grows.
What You'll Do
- Follow Onyx Matcha Club recipes, preparation methods and presentation standards.
- Complete daily food preparation and batch production efficiently.
- Ensure consistent portion sizes, taste, texture and presentation.
- Clearly label, date and safely store all prepared products.
- Follow food-safety, hygiene and allergen procedures at all times.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and communicate ordering requirements.
- Follow FIFO stock rotation and help minimise food waste.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and preparation area.
- Work closely with the wider café team to ensure products are prepared and available on time.
What We're Looking For
- Has previous experience in food preparation, baking or a similar kitchen role.
- Is passionate about baking, wholesome ingredients and plant-based food.
- Can follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent standards.
- Has excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Understands food hygiene, allergen awareness and safe food handling.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, punctual and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Has a creative eye and takes pride in the appearance of every product.
A Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate is desirable, although training may be provided
