Steel Erector Assistant
Location: London and surrounding areas

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Steel Erector Assistant to join our team on a self-employed basis.
You will work alongside experienced steel erectors, assisting with the assembly and installation of structural steel on construction projects.
Previous experience in steel erection or construction is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install steel beams, columns and other structural components according to drawings and specifications
- Assist with fitting, bolting and securing structural steel
- Use hand and power tools to cut, shape and fit metal components
- Assist with lifting, positioning and moving steel materials
- Follow instructions from experienced steel erectors and site supervisors
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules
- Work safely at height when required
- Keep the work area clean and organised
- Work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard

- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual work
- Physical strength and stamina for lifting and handling materials
- Comfortable working at height
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Good attitude towards health and safety
Requirements
- Minimum Green CSCS Labourer Card
- Valid UTR number and CIS registration
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
- We are unable to offer visa sponsorship
- Previous construction or steelwork experience is preferred but not essential
- Willingness to learn and develop within the steel erection industry

This is a self-employed/subcontractor position.

Candidates must have a UTR number and be registered for CIS, as applicable to the self-employed arrangement.
