Job Summary
Deja Services LTD are looking for experienced and motivated NPTC Chainsaw Operators to join our growing rail vegetation management team working across South Wales and surrounding areas.
The role involves carrying out vegetation clearance, tree works, and maintenance operations alongside railway infrastructure in a safe and professional manner. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and committed to maintaining high safety standards within the rail industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vegetation clearance and tree works alongside railway infrastructure
- Operate chainsaws, brush cutters, hedge cutters, and associated equipment safely and effectively
- Undertake tree felling, pruning, dismantling, and site clearance operations
- Ensure all works are completed in line with rail safety standards and site procedures
- Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment to a high standard
- Conduct daily equipment and safety checks before use
- Assist with site setup, safety zones, and worksite organisation
- Work efficiently as part of a team to complete planned works
- Follow environmental and ecological guidelines during operations
- Report hazards, defects, and safety concerns to supervisors promptly
Requirements
- Valid NPTC / City & Guilds Chainsaw Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence
- PTS certification preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in vegetation management, arboriculture, forestry, or rail works preferred
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors and carry out physical work
- Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious attitude
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
